“Mama?”
“Yes, baby?”
“You ‘nember, LAST week, you give me a candy?”
“Ye..”
“You ‘nember, you said I can have another candy to later?”
Smiling into my shoulder, so he doesn’t think I’m not taking him seriously, “I remember. That was this morning, habibi (my love)”
“Yeah. I know. LAST week.” He paused for a moment, carefully calculating his next move. Then, looking at me with his large, quizzical eyes, slightly impatient, doing his best to remain calm, “SO? It’s to later now mama. Where’s my candy?!”
Um, yeah. We’re still learning about time. It’s a work in progress.
